Every parent wants to teach their child to be a good sportsman. (Or sportswoman!) We want our kids to enjoy the competition of sports and games but we also want them to be able to genuinely enjoy the competition, be humble winners and graceful losers. Those aren’t things that come naturally to kids. OK, to be honest those aren’t things that come naturally to a lot of adults either. However there are lots of things that we can do to help our children learn the appropriate boundaries around competition. One of best ways is through roughhousing. Yes, roughhousing.
